Product Overview
A bushing (also called a sleeve bearing or shaft bush) is a cylindrical liner mounted between the rotating shaft, crankshaft, or connecting rod and the compressor housing. It carries radial loads and eliminates direct metal-to-metal contact. Whether in rotary screw, reciprocating piston, or centrifugal compressors, the precision and wear resistance of the bushing directly determine running stability, energy-efficiency decay, and time between major overhauls.
Key Selling Points & Technical Specifications
Our air compressor bushings are centrifugally cast from high-wear copper alloys — ZCuSn10P1 tin bronze or ZCuAl10Fe3 aluminum bronze — then precision bored, finish-turned, and inspected. Finished hardness is held at HRC 35–45, with inner and outer diameter tolerances controlled within ±0.02 mm. Rated radial load capacity is no less than 50 MPa, and thermal conductivity reaches 60–80 W/(m·K), rapidly dissipating frictional heat under continuous full-load operation and preventing oil-film breakdown and shaft seizure caused by localized overheating.
For screw-compressor rotor ends and shaft-seal positions, we also supply PTFE self-lubricating bushings. Even under marginal lubrication or dusty plant conditions, microscopic solid lubricant is released during rotation, continuously forming a low-friction protective film. Field data shows that properly specified self-lubricating bushings last 3 to 5 times longer than standard bushings in harsh environments, dramatically reducing unplanned downtime.
For centrifugal and screw-compressor coupling positions, we offer HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile rubber) damping bushings rated for oil temperatures up to 150°C, with a permanent compression set below 8%. They resist collapse and hardening under long-term alternating loads and effectively absorb vibration caused by rotor misalignment.
Why Replace a Worn Bushing On Time?
Bushings are wear items. Once internal clearance grows due to abrasion, a chain of problems follows: male/female rotor meshing clearance drifts, vibration rises, discharge temperature climbs, specific power increases, and abnormal noise appears. In severe cases, it can lead to rotor-to-housing contact, seal leakage, or even a locked airend. Industry experience shows that timely replacement with a quality bushing can extend overhaul intervals by more than 30% and meaningfully lower annual maintenance cost. We recommend scheduling replacement based on operating hours (typically 8,000–12,000 hours depending on duty cycle) together with vibration and temperature monitoring.
Compatibility
Our bushing range covers replacement requirements for major compressor brands, including Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, Fusheng, CompAir, Sullair, and others. Available types include rotor-end bushings, connecting-rod small-end bushings, guide bushings, shaft-seal bushings, and coupling damping bushings. Common sizes such as 55×67×32 mm, 55×70×86.5 mm, and 65×79×28 mm are in stock; custom dimensions are available on request from your drawings.
